In honor of National Runaway Prevention Month, we're training communities across the country on best practices for serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth experiencing homelessness.
True Colors United is partnering with communities across the country to increase LGBTQ inclusion.
Each November, True Colors United partners with communities across the country to provide community-wide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) cultural inclusivity trainings with all local homeless service providers. From November 1 – November 30, 2019, organizations across the country will participate in the “2019 Prevention Challenge.” Stay tuned for the results of each community every week in November!
November is National Runaway Prevention Month
National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM) is led by the National Runaway Safeline with support from the Federal Government’s Family and Youth Services Bureau.
NRPM is not only looking to “Shine a Light” on the issues runaway and homeless youth face every day, but also the resources available to youth in crisis and at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
Final Results
Over the past 30 days, these seven communities demonstrated their commitment to LGBTQ inclusivity by training as many people as possible. Combined, they were able to train almost 400 people. Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2019 Prevention Challenge!
