A proud native of Philadelphia, Toni has worked for over 20 years to support young people in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C in their journeys to survive and thrive in spite of oppressive forces. She believes that the hardest and most meaningful work must start with those closest to the pain leading the charge. Toni completed her undergraduate degree in African American Studies and began her career creating social interventions to promote healthy behaviors among marginalized adolescent communities. Toni earned a graduate degree in Community and Trauma Counseling and has a deep understanding of the ways adverse experiences impact people and communities across the lifespan. Having worked in positions ranging from direct service, workforce development to program administration, Toni has a unique perspective and comprehensive skill set to work with children, youth and families as well as the professionals who serve them. As a trainer, Toni believes in creating space for participants to learn and grow in ways that are fun, engaging, informative and empowering. At True Colors United, Toni provides technical assistance in-person and remotely to foster youth collaboration and equity within systems committed to ending youth homelessness. Toni enjoys writing, biking, swimming and watching animal rescue videos with her wife, puppy and houseplants.
