1.) More sessions.
This year’s 40 to None Summit will feature more opportunities for learning and collaboration than ever before! In addition to awesome main stage performances, panels, and keynotes, we’ll have breakout sessions in different rooms throughout the day so that attendees can craft their own experience.
We don’t want to spoil all the surprises just yet, but you can expect sessions on how communities can get creative with technology to reach youth experiencing homelessness, updates from folks working on the ground to address homelessness across the country, as well as a special panel conversation all about the unique experiences of transgender women of color.
2.) More space.
Los Angeles, here we come!
This year, the 40 to None Summit will be held in Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza! We’re particularly excited, as the LA LGBT Center does excellent work to serve LGBT young people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. Home to the beautiful Renberg Theatre, the Advocate & Gochis Galleries artistic space, several classrooms, and an open-air courtyard, we can’t wait to spend a sunny southern California weekend at the LA LGBT Center! Our venue this year also offers a bit more space for attendees to collaborate and converse.
Summit attendees are eligible for a special room rate at the Loews Hollywood Hotel, which is just a few blocks away from the LGBT Center. There’s plenty to do in the area too… So if you’re coming in from out of town, you’re in for a bit of fun!
3.) More young people.
Youth are always at the center of our work. That’s something you can always expect at a True Colors Fund event.
This year’s 40 to None Summit will be no different. Young people will be at the forefront of the Summit, kicking the program off with a live performance, delivering opening remarks, and leading sessions throughout the day!
We can’t expect to prevent and end LGBT youth homelessness unless we listen to the young people who actually experience it! That’s the exact thinking behind projects like the True Fellowship and the National Youth Forum on Homelessness, our new collaboration with the National Alliance to End Homelessness… both of which you’ll hear about at the Summit.
4.) Food trucks!
That’s right. Food trucks. LA is known for them. So we’d be remiss if we didn’t have some at the 40 to None Summit.
Come for the Summit… stay for the food. We won’t judge. Or maybe you prefer your food cooked in a building rather than an automobile… That’s cool too! Both options will be available to you at the Summit.
So, are you in? If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here! Feel free to email us with any questions at summit@truecolorsunited.org.
