Baltimore (MD), Columbus (OH), Hennepin County (MN), Louisville (KY) and Palm Beach County (FL) Step Up
We’re excited to share that five communities are taking up the 100 Day Challenge to end youth homelessness!
Organized by our friends at A Way Home America, the Rapid Results Institute, and HomeBase and supported by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the 100 Day Challenge inspires innovative approaches to help young people find safe and stable housing. This summer Baltimore, MD; Columbus, OH; Hennepin County, MN); Louisville, KY; and Palm Beach County, FL will be accelerating their efforts to end youth homelessness.
In 2016, Austin, Cleveland, and Los Angeles each completed a 100-Day Challenge on Youth Homelessness, achieving big progress. Each community exceeded their 100-Day goal, ending the experience of homelessness for a total of 428 young people. The communities also discovered new insights on how communities can prevent and end youth homelessness. Read more about their success here.
“Along this journey, not only did we meet our goals, we exceeded them. We tried new and innovative approaches and tested old existing methods,” said Terrance Walker, a member of the National Youth Forum on Homelessness who worked on the 2016 challenges. “Through collaboration we got the job done! We look forward to supporting similar success in all five communities launching this summer.”
We’re excited too! With an additional 5 community cohort launching in the fall, 2017 is a very big year in the movement to end youth homelessness.
