The Runaway and Homeless Youth and Trafficking Prevention Act is a vital piece of legislation that would reauthorize the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act (RHYA). RHYA is our nation’s only federal law that specifically funds vital services for youth experiencing homelessness. The bipartisan reauthorization bill includes a non-discrimination clause that will help ensure that the 40 percent of youth experiencing homelessness who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) not only have access to critical services, but that those services are safe, welcoming, and tailored to meet their unique needs.

Currently, over 450 organizations have signed on in support of reauthorizing RHYA. Take a moment to review the the letter and full list of organizations.

We hope your organization will join us in raising our voices in support of RHYA’s reauthorization. By letting Congress know how important this legislation is to countless young people, we can help ensure that the proper services and protections are in place for this generation and those to come.
