Our new toolkit helps communities channel the power of project management.
Back in June, we announced our partnership with the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF), which awarded the True Colors Fund a $150,000 grant to help communities operationalize how they address homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Now, we’re excited to announce the release of the True Colors Fund’s latest toolkit – The Critical Path: Project Management for Communities.
By training community coalitions on project management principles and methodologies, such as needs assessments, risk management, and estimation, we help stakeholders stay focused and organized throughout their planning process. Using this toolkit, users will have the know-how to create and implement a comprehensive strategic plan that will improve the lives of all young people experiencing homelessness in their community.
So far, the True Colors Fund has held on-the-ground project management trainings with local leaders in Pinellas County, FL; Grand Rapids, MI; Dallas, TX; and Houston, TX. True Colors Fund staff also presented on project management at the National Alliance to End Homelessness conference and our own Impact Summit – and we did it again at this year’s Impact Summit on October 3-4 in Atlanta!
With the release of this resource, youth homelessness stakeholders are no longer confined to attending in-person trainings. The Toolkit is available free of charge within our True Colors Learning Community.
