Tell us a bit about your life and work prior to joining True Colors United. Whatcha been up to?

Before coming to True Colors United, I worked at Juvenile Law Center, an organization that advocates on behalf of young people impacted by the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. I supported operations and development taking the helm of institutional giving, assisting with accounts payable, and coordinating operations efforts.

My formative years included working on the 2012 Soulforce Equality Ride, being named a Point Foundation scholar in 2015, and working with the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Palette Fund among other groups and organizations while earning my B.S. from Temple University.

Why True Colors United?

As a Black gay man from a major city, I’ve seen first hand the ways in which homelessness and poverty impact the Queer community. My advocacy roots go back to working with and for my peers. True Colors United is an organization that uplifts and empowers young people whose lives are most impacted by systems of oppression, and that’s the work that I want to put my best efforts forward to supporting.

What sort of work will you be up to in your new position – and what are you most excited about?

I’m joining the executive team at True Colors. What that will look like is: assisting the Chief Operating Officer with the management of the organization’s operations; assisting the Executive Director & CEO in maintaining and improving a strong donor, funder, and community relationship management program; and providing administrative support to the Executive Director & CEO and Chief Operating Officer including project support, correspondence, expense reports, and managing schedules.

What do you geek out about?

Video games and anime/manga. I’m a certified otaku.
