Marco Antonio Quiroga

Marco Antonio Quiroga, Director of Public Policy at the True Colors Fund, will be transitioning out of his position within the next few weeks to move back to his hometown of Orlando.

Marco, like many individuals across our country following the Pulse shooting last month that killed and injured over 100 people, was deeply impacted by this unexpected and fundamentally life-altering tragedy. He has committed himself to supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ), Latinx, and immigrant communities in Orlando who were predominantly and distinctively impacted and who he regards as his family.

In the wake of this tragedy, Marco’s focus moving forward will be the on-the-ground needs of Orlando’s LGBTQ and Latinx communities he grew up with, particularly LGBTQ Latinxs who live at the intersection of these marginalized identities. Through his years of experience living, organizing, and advocating alongside these communities in Orlando and throughout Central Florida, Marco is committed to supporting services, philanthropy, community-building, community advocacy, and healing in this recovery process.

Marco is an extraordinary leader and it has been an honor to work with him. He has been an incredible asset to the True Colors Fund, and although we are very sad to see him go, we understand that he must follow his heart. Marco will now and forever be a part of the True Colors Fund family.

While he may not be working with the True Colors Fund full time any longer, Marco will continue to work with us from Orlando on a part time basis as a Policy Advisor, offering guidance and expertise to our public policy work as only he can.
