Detrell is our Advocacy Fellow at TCU, working in our LA Project to help youth advocates across LA County in their efforts to end youth homelessness. Detrell first entered the youth homelessness system after moving to LA post-graduation at 17 in 2021. They found themselves in advocacy work through the LA LGBT Center Youth Ambassadors until joining the Youth Intermediary Cohort in January 2022. They went from board member, to cohort member, to independent contractor, to their current fellowship position.

Detrell was born and raised in Detroit, MI. They are attending Los Angeles City College, and hope to transfer to USC in Los Angeles, CA. When Detrell is not working, he enjoys singing, creating art, voguing in ballroom, and spending time with friends. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
