Jeff Katz joined True Colors United in October of 2022 as the Senior Director of Development, where he oversees the organization’s fundraising efforts and supporter engagement. Having spent nearly a decade working with youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, most recently Jeff served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at My Friend’s Place in Los Angeles. Jeff led on advancing a number of the organization’s key projects, including campaign fundraising, JEDI (justice, equity, diversity and inclusion) work, advocacy, contributor relations and community partnerships. Before stepping into that role in 2020, Jeff was the Associate Director of Development at My Friend’s Place, where he led on both fundraising efforts and special event production, as well as outward facing communication pieces, including PR, media and marketing. Jeff has also raised funds and created campaigns for organizations including the L.A. LGBT Center, International Medical Corps., AIDS/LifeCycle and Ronald McDonald House Charities. He completed his undergraduate degree in Communications at UC Davis, and is a graduate of The Nonprofit Partnerships Emerging Leaders program. Jeff lives in Los Angeles with his husband, Thom, their daughter and their dog.
