Taisacan comes to True Colors United from Las Vegas, Nevada, with a background as a Youth Advocate working to dismantle barriers that cause and maintain homelessness. Throughout her journey as an Advocate, she has been the Champion of The Southern Nevada Youth Action Board, Young Adults in Charge (YAC), a Diplomat for Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth’s Ambassadors, the Advocacy Fellow for the 2020 True Colors United Fellowship, and a member of the National Youth Forum on Homelessness. Taisacan approaches the work with a strong focus on intersectionality and the ways in which different modes of discrimination and privilege impact youth experiencing homelessness. Likewise, she firmly believes in empowering those with lived experience and shifting to thrive.

Taisacan is also a singer-songwriter and is dedicated to becoming proficient in her craft through continuous growth. In addition to her love for music, she enjoys reading, poetry, and losing herself in a good film/TV show. One of her favorite quotes is, “Are you willing to put in the work to be great?”
