We’re thrilled to announce that our executive director, Gregory Lewis, has been named one of the NonProfit Times’ 2013 Power and Influence Top 50 for his impact in the nonprofit world. Our co-founder, Cyndi Lauper, released the following statement:
I’m thrilled to see Gregory’s important contributions be recognized by the NonProfit Times. Five years ago, we decided to start a foundation that worked towards equality, and took on important issues in a big way. One issue close to my heart is the epidemic of homelessness among gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth. And we realized there was not a national organization solely dedicated to this important issue. Enter Gregory Lewis, our Executive Director! Gregory immediately got to work immersing himself in the issue and making sure the True Colors Fund had a strategic plan to tackle this gigantic, complicated issue in a smart, effective way. Every day, we are having a real, positive impact on the lives of gay and transgender young people across the country. And that’s possible because of Gregory’s tireless dedication and leadership.

Gregory will be honored in September during the annual NonProfit Times’ Power & Influence Top 50 Gala in Washington, D.C. among his fellow honorees, including Bill Gates, United Nation Foundation CEO Kathy Calvin, and United Way Worldwide’s Brian Gallagher. See the full list.
