Celebrate greatness at the Impact Summit Opening Reception!

Hello all! I’m Alex Exum, the 2018 True Colors Production Fellow, and I am so honored to say that I will be co-producing Shaken Not Stirred: The Opening Reception at this year’s Impact Summit! I am so excited to be a part of team that is so passionate about ending homelessness among LGBTQ youth. I too am very passionate about this and plan to really light this year up with an amazing event!

What happens at the Opening Reception?

What doesn’t happen? Here’s what you can expect from this year’s Opening Reception:

  • True Colors Fellowship graduation – Celebrate the work and leadership and the 2018 True Colors Fellows.
  • True Awards presentation – Recognize greatness in the movement to end LGBTQ youth homelessness!
  • Comedy and music – Catch performances from Summit attendees and local ATL talent.
  • Mixing and mingling – Make new friends and reconnect with old ones over refreshments, music, and dancing!

Make a connection with the Impact Summit community.

I have always wanted to be a part of a positive change in this world. I feel like this is my purpose. I have attended two Impact Summits before deciding that I just had to somehow be a part of this powerful project. It fits my colorful and bubbly personality and I was SO ready to express all of that with the rest of the world in such a creative way. I have experienced a period of being without a stable place to live and I know so many others that also have been in this situation. I am able to see that not all people who experience homelessness are up to no good or are lazy. Things can happen; some being bad, and some being magical. Of the youth experiencing homelessness in America, 40% identify as LGBTQ! We can provide these future leaders with a fighting chance at something great. I am here to change things.

I hope you’ll join me this year at the Opening Reception to get inspired about the role YOU can take in ending LGBTQ youth homelessness!
